AFSS Projects

• Northwest Central PA Emergency Response Group (NWCPAERG)
  • AFSS operates as the Grants and Program Administrator for NWCPAERG.  AFSS works with the regional response group to acquire and expend federal grant funds including State Homeland Security Grant Program (SHSGP) and Interoperable Emergency Communications Grant Program (IECGP)
  • AFSS has been conducting HSEEP exercises for NWCPAERG since 2005, including IED, Bio-Hazard, and Chemical Hazard Scenarios, exercising response planning and training, including Incident Management Team, Communications, Decontamination, Search & Rescue, Response & Recovery, Evacuation, and POD site activations.  Including full scale exercise locations of DuBois Mall, Clearfield Jefferson Regional Airport, Bradford Airport, St. Marys Airport, McKean County Courthouse, Clarion County Courthouse, St. Marys Area High School, Redbank Valley School District, Keystone School District, Punxsutawney Area High School, Brookville Area High School, Clearfield Area High School, Sizerville State Park.

   

• North Central Task Force
  • AFSS conducted a Tabletop Law Enforcement Communications exercise for North Central Task Force at Bucknell University.
  • AFSS in conjunction with our partner company MCM Consulting Group, Inc. conducted two semi-regional and one regional interoperable communications tabletop exercises.

   

• Healthcare Facilities
  • Corry Memorial Hospital - AFSS is currently conducting a complete emergency plan review and revision for Corry Memorial Hospital, which will be followed by a site specific revision upon transition to their new facility.  Two tabletop and two functional exercises are planned for 2012 - 2014.
  • DuBois Regional Medical Center - AFSS works annually with DRMC in both training and exercise.  Both ICS and Decontamination training programs have been conducted at the facility as well as multiple exercises, both tabletop and functional.  Exercise elements have included, Incident Command, Communications, Medical Surge, Evacuation, Triage, and Decontamination.
  • Clearfield Hospital - AFSS works annually with Clearfield Hospital in both training and exercise.  Both ICS and Decontamination training programs have been conducted.  Exercise elements have included Incident Command, Communications, Medical Surge, Evacuation, Triage, and Decontamination.
  • Elk Regional Health Center - AFSS works annually with ERHC in both training and exercise.  Both ICS and Decontamination training programs have been conducted.  Exercise elements have included Incident Command, Communications, Medical Surge, Evacuation, Triage, and Decontamination.
  • Kane Community Hospital - AFSS has conducted, ICS, Decontamination and Triage training and exercises with elements including Incident Command , Communications, Triage and Decontamination
  • Bradford Regional Medical Center - AFSS completed an emergency plan and equipment review for BRMC.  ICS and Decontamination Classes were conducted over the past year.  Currently we are coordinating a tabletop exercise which will be followed by a functional exercise with elements including Incident Command, Communications, and Decontamination.  AFSS will continue to work with Bradford Hospital in both training and exercise.
  • Punxsutawney Hospital - AFSS works annually with Punxsutawney Hospital in both training and exercise.  Both ICS and Decontamination training programs have been conducted.  Exercise elements have included Incident Command, Communications, Medical Surge, Evacuation, Triage, and Decontamination.  AFSS will be working with Punxsutawney Hospital on their role in the statewide healthcare exercise in April 2012.
  • Brookville Hospital  - AFSS works annually with Brookville Hospital in both training and exercise.  Both ICS and Decontamination training programs have been conducted.  Exercise elements have included Incident Command, Communications, Medical Surge, Evacuation, Triage, and Decontamination.
  • Clarion Hospital - AFSS works annually with Clarion Hospital in both training and exercise.  Both ICS and Decontamination training programs have been conducted.  Exercise elements have included Incident Command, Communications, Medical Surge, Evacuation, Triage, and Decontamination.

   

• Universities
  • Clarion University of Pennsylvania - AFSS has conducted NIMS ICS training for Clarion University as well as both full scale and tabletop exercises using elements of Chemical Hazards, IED, Active shooter, Incident Command, and Communications.
  • Bucknell University - AFSS conducted a tabletop exercise at Bucknell University for the North Central Task Force.  The main focus of the exercise was law enforcement communications
  • Edinboro University - AFSS is currently working on a tabletop exercise with Edinboro University

   

• School Districts
  • AFSS has conducted NIMS ICS training for Clarion Area School District
  • AFSS has conducted HSEEP exercises in Cameron County School District, St. Marys Area School District, Redbank Valley School District, Keystone Area School District, Brookville Area School District, Punxsutawney Area School District, Clearfield Area School District

   

• MDMC (SNS) & POD Sites
  • AFSS has developed and continues to update the Northwest Central PA Emergency Response Groups MDMC (formerly SNS) plan. 
  • AFSS has conducted multiple Point of Distribution (POD) site exercises within the NWCPAERG, including tabletops and full scale POD activation exercises.
