room sessions and practical exercises, this course is designed to teach
emergency medical technicians the skills necessary to recognize mechanisms of
injury, assess, perform critical interventions and package and transport a
trauma victim. The primary purpose of this class is to provide the EMT with the
fundamental knowledge and experience necessary to get the trauma victim to the
emergency department in the best possible condition, giving physicians and

Legal Aspects of Fire Command & Writing SOG’s
This Course is designed to provide a course of study and skill development for Fire Command Officers and the current impact Laws, NFPA Standards, OSHA Standards, Mutual Aid Agreements, SOG’s/SOO’s/SOG’s/SRG’s, and other real issues impacting a fire command’s management control of emergencies, disasters, and fires; to provide each Command Officer with a structure to perform an analysis of risk exposures (i.e., legal, financial, and practical); to provide various strategies and techniques in developing efficient and effective programs to address all hazard emergency response organizations; to identify critical, legal, and command control problems facing Chief Officers within Pennsylvania.

Confined Space Rescue
Students will learn a plan of operation, tools, manpower and manipulation skills required to perform safe removal of victims from limited space confinement. Emphasis is placed on safety and the psychological effects of confined space rescue. Students will participate in team rescue scenarios.

Emergency Vehicle Driver Training Program (EVOC)
This course, developed by Volunteer Firemen’s Insurance Services, provides instruction in techniques of driving emergency vehicles under all conditions. Students will learn the importance of vehicle dynamics, driver selection, condition and preparation on safe vehicle operations. The course includes practice on a driving course laid out to simulate various driving conditions. Also included is a section on service and preventive maintenance.

High Risk Patrol Operations – Rapid Deployment Tactics
This course is designed for Law Enforcement Officers who may be called upon to resolve an active shooter situation in a public venue, school or commercial property. Topics covered include Historical overview of Active Shooters, Hostage Situations, Incident Management, Contact Team Formation, and Rescue Team Formation. Practical exercises will be conducted using real firearms equipped with Simunition® FX marking cartridges for dynamic shoot/don’t shoot scenarios.
