Incident Command Concepts and Principles - 8 hrs.
 
Incident Command Systems  Concepts and Principles is a course designed for emergency response personnel, local government/public works personnel and any other personnel representing agencies whose duties may require them to participate in response to a terrorist incident or large-scale emergency.  This course teaches basic command and management tools which are built around the five (5) major functions of Command, Operations, Planning, Logistics and Finance.  The concepts learned in this course can be applied to all incidents large or small.  Students will learn principles of supervisory authority and reporting relationships with an emphasis on "unity of command".  This course is ideal for individuals wishing to acquire a basic knowledge of Incident Command in a minimal time frame.

Incident Response for Support Personnel - 4 hrs.

Incident Response for Support Personnel is designed for individuals who do not typically respond to emergency incidents.  The target audience includes Amateur Radio Personnel, Damage Assessment Teams, Road Crews and Municipal Staff, Utility Crews, News Media and any other agency or individual that may be utilized for support operations.  This course will enable students to understand basic incident management design thus enabling them to properly integrate with primary emergency services.  Students will also learn safety principles necessary for their own well being while operating at an emergency scene.  Safety principles include the ability to recognize hazardous materials and hazardous conditions as well as understanding terminology and signs used by primary emergency responders to indicate danger.  Information concerning terrorist activities and the potential use of Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Weapons will be presented, as well as, concepts concerning the use of secondary devices or secondary attacks against emergency personnel.
