Decontamination Practices
This is a hands-on program designed to develop proficiencies when working with hazardous materials and WMD emergencies in order to assist Hazardous Materials Teams and Strike Teams at the Operations level. Students will participate in drills setting up zones, identifying materials and their properties and identifying the levels of protective clothing necessary. Proper decontamination procedures and types will be emphasized. Students will achieve these goals by utilizing many items commonly available or easily accessible to fire personnel and hazardous materials teams. Spill control and response will also be covered.
