Ballistic Shield
The Ballistic Shield is an extra level of protection in the hands of an individual that can properly utilize it. This course will provide the patrol officer with proper knowledge of the shield and the techniques to utilize it. Students will learn proper care of the shield, as well as the ballistic levels and construction of the shield and its materials, proper deployment and entry techniques. Students will be taught several advantages for shied use during patrol related response to potentially hostile situations. Officer rescue exercises along with a variety of other practical scenarios will be conducted ranging from traffic stops to residential/commercial property scenarios.
This This course is hosted by the Butler City Police Department. MPOETC grant funding has been applied for and is pending approval.
The l Lead course instructors will be Dan Siegel and Mark Heider.
Cour Course Location: Butler County Community College
Date Dates: October 02 and 03, 2008, from 0830 to 1600 Hours each day.
Registration: MPOETC Funded Class: Municipal Police register with Butler City Police, other Law Enforcement must purchase a ticket prior to registering."
Class size: 25 people maximum. Registrations are accepted in the order received.
