Advanced Patrol Tactics
Patrol officers are the first line of defense in nearly every incident, so they must be ready, mentally and physically, to meet these challenges. This course will focus on tactical mind-set and survival skills every officer working on the street should have in order to end his or her shift safely. Students will learn about personal mental and physical conditioning, vehicle stop tactics, active shooter scenarios, domestic disturbances, shoot/no shoot decisions, suspicious persons, building searches, and other general patrol responsibilities and tactics. These topics will be discussed and practiced through both classroom and extensive practical application. Practical exercises will be conducted involving a variety of fully dynamic and realistic scenarios utilizing Simunition® FX® Marking Cartridges.
This This course is hosted by the Butler City Police Department. MPOETC grant funding has been applied for and is pending approval.
The l Lead course instructors will be Dan Siegel and Mark Heider.
Cour Course Location: Butler County Community College
Date Dates: September 04 and 05, 2008, from 0830 to 1600 Hours each day.
Registration: MPOETC Funded Class: Municipal Police register with Butler City Police, other Law Enforcement must purchase a ticket prior to registering."
Class size: 25 people maximum. Registrations are accepted in the order received.
